Massage Therapy Policies and Boundaries

Massage therapy is a professional service provided for relaxation and therapeutic purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation, or request of a sexual nature will result in:

  1. Immediate termination of your session.
  2. Refusal of any and all future services.
  3. Full service fee charged, regardless of the length of your session.
  4. Possible report to local authorities, depending on the behavior exhibited.

We ask that you treat your therapist with respect and dignity, and you will be treated with the same in return.


Draping Policies

In the State of Massachusetts, it is required by law and the ethical boundaries of massage therapy to use proper draping with sheets and blankets during all massage sessions. Requests to remove draping entirely will be declined, as this violates ethical and legal standards.

The only exception to this rule is if the client is fully dressed.

If a client disregards or repeatedly challenges the draping policy:

  1. The session will be terminated immediately.
  2. Future services will be refused.
  3. The full service fee will still be charged, regardless of the remaining time in the session.


We are committed to creating a safe, professional, and respectful environment for all clients and therapists.

While Booking

 

Add-On Options

When booking your appointment, you will have the option to enhance your session by adding extra features. After selecting your appointment date and time, the system will ask if you'd like to include an add-on. If you prefer not to, simply click Skip to finalize your booking.


First-Time Client Policy

First-time clients are required to pay 20% of the appointment rate at the time of booking. This fee is non-refundable if the appointment is not canceled within the 24-hour cancellation policy. This ensures your time slot is reserved.

Important:

  • Square Gift Cards cannot be used to prepay the 20% fee.
  • If you have a Square Gift Card, text 508-556-1135 with the following details:
    • Your Name
    • Email
    • Best Phone Number
    • Desired Appointment Date and Time
    • Session Length
    • Gift Card Number


The Gift Card will hold your appointment. However, if you cancel after the 24-hour cancellation window or fail to show up for your appointment, the gift card may become invalid for future use.


No-Show/No-Call Policy

  • If you miss your appointment without notifying us, you are 100% responsible for the full session rate.
  • To rebook, you must prepay for your next session within 48 hours of the missed appointment. Failure to do so will result in the session being canceled.

Please understand that when you don’t show up or fail to give us enough notice, it’s time your therapist cannot recover. Providing notice allows us the opportunity to fill that spot.


Health Insurance and Payment Policies

  • Health Insurance: We do not accept health insurance, but we do accept FSA Health Debit Cards.
  • Accepted Health Insurance Plans at this Location:
    • Optum
    • VA Hospital Optum: VA Community Care Network

Important:

  • If you prepay with an FSA Health Debit Card, tips cannot be added to the transaction, as this will result in a declined payment. Tips can be provided in-office at the time of your appointment.
  • Tips are welcomed but not required. Whether or not you leave a tip, your therapist will provide 110% effort to ensure your session is exceptional.


Cancellation and Return Policies

  • All cancellations must adhere to the 24-hour policy to avoid charges.
  • All sales are final, and returns are subject to the owner’s discretion.

Cancellation Policy

We kindly request 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • First-Time Cancellation: Depending on the circumstances, the first missed or late cancellation may be waived.
  • Future Appointments: After the first occurrence, a credit card will be required to hold all future bookings.


Illness and Emergency Policy

We understand that emergencies and illnesses can arise unexpectedly. If you experience any of the following within 24 hours of your appointment, please cancel your session:

  • Fever
  • Known infection
  • Vomiting or diarrhea

In such cases, we appreciate your prompt communication.


Inclement Weather Policy

Severe weather conditions may result in the need for late cancellations. We will do our best to notify you in advance if we need to close or cancel appointments due to weather. We ask that you do the same. Please prioritize your safety and do not risk travel in unsafe conditions.


Missed Session Charges

Cancellations due to emergencies, illness, or inclement weather will generally not result in missed session charges. However, this will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We strive to accommodate all clients and provide the best possible service. To help us manage our schedule effectively, the following policies apply:


  • Cancellations Within 3 Hours of Appointment:
    • If you cancel within 3 hours of your appointment, you will be responsible for 50% of the service rate, unless we are able to fill your appointment time.
    • If you cancel less than 3 hours before your appointment and the time cannot be filled, you will be charged the full service rate.
    • Exceptions may be made under special circumstances, as determined by the owner.


  • No-Show / No-Call:
    • Clients who fail to show up for their appointment without prior notice will be required to pay the full service rate before scheduling their next appointment.


Sick and COVID-19 Policy

For the safety of everyone, we ask that you reschedule your appointment immediately if you are feeling unwell or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. Your health and the health of others are our top priorities.


Additional Policies

  • Masks: Masks are optional. Please feel free to wear one if it makes you more comfortable.
  • Arrival: Upon arrival, please text (508) 556-1135 to notify us.

If you miss your appointment and do not call prior to your scheduled time, you will be responsible for the full service rate. This policy is separate from the late cancellation policy and includes the following terms:

  • Deposit Policy:
    • If you have paid a 20% deposit to hold your appointment, this deposit will not be refunded in the event of a no-show or no-call.
    • An invoice for the remaining balance of the session will be issued to you.


  • Example:
  • A 1-hour massage costs $100.
  • $50 was paid as a deposit.
  • If you fail to show or call, an invoice for the remaining $50 will be sent to you.


  • Special Circumstances:
    • Exceptions may be made under special circumstances, as determined by the owner.

We value your time and ours, and this policy ensures fairness and respect for both the therapist and other clients.

  • Arrival Time:
    • Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to allow time for completing any required paperwork and answering intake questions from your therapist.


  • Late Arrivals:
    • We understand that unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. If you anticipate being late, we kindly ask that you call us as soon as possible so we can do our best to accommodate you.
    • Please note that appointment times are reserved specifically for each client, and we may not be able to extend your session time if it would affect the next scheduled client.
    • Late arrivals may result in a shortened session to ensure the next appointment starts on time, but the full service fee will still apply.


  • Our Commitment:
    • We are committed to starting your session on time. If we are unable to do so, we will either extend your session time or adjust the service charge accordingly to ensure fairness.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide timely and quality service to all clients.

Forms

Intake forms are emailed once you make your first appointment.


Filling out the forms will save time during the intake process.  

5 Minutes are set aside for a proper intake which will go over any medical questions, what brings you in, & what you will expected from the session. This will allow the therapist to plan out the session and make recommendations that may be needed. 

If the appointment is made for a minor the parent or guardian needs to fill it out and sign their name to the intake form giving permission for the massage session. Please look at the waiver when you receive the email of intake form.  


Additional Forms That May Be Required

For your safety and well-being, the following forms may be required from your doctor before receiving massage therapy:


First Trimester & High-Risk Pregnancies

If you are in your first trimester or considered high-risk during pregnancy, a doctor’s note will be required to clear you for massage therapy. This note should include:

  • Clearance for massage therapy.
  • Any areas to be avoided due to pregnancy-related risks.


Post-Prenatal Massages

If you are seeking a massage within days after giving birth, a doctor’s note is required to ensure that you are cleared for massage therapy. This ensures your safety and that your body is ready for post-natal treatments.


Post-Surgery Massages

If you have had surgery within the past 6 to 8 weeks, a doctor’s note is required to clear you for massage therapy. The note should include:

  • Clearance for massage therapy.
  • Any areas that should be avoided due to surgery recovery.
  • Recommendations on how long to wait before certain muscles can be worked on, or if specific areas need attention.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in providing any necessary medical documentation to ensure a safe and effective massage experience.


Red Light Therapy 

 

Red Light Therapy uses low-wavelength red light to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and improve skin appearance. It's commonly used for pain relief and skin rejuvenation. Up to 30 Minutes in one day allowed 

Cautions:

  • Avoid sunscreen: It blocks the light from reaching your skin.
  • Remove jewelry: Reflective materials may interfere with the treatment.
  • Do not use contact lenses: Red light can irritate eyes; wear glasses or plastic goggles.
  • Check medications: Photosensitive drugs may increase light sensitivity.
  • Avoid broken skin: Only use on open wounds with doctor approval.
  • Not for children under 13 and not recommended during pregnancy.
